BIO FOR MANJIT BASI

Manjit Basi is an entrepreneur with a focus on community. She is one of the founding board members of Leadership Ottawa and the 3i Summit(Imagine, Interact, Inspire). She grew up in an immigrant family, became the youngest franchisee of The Body Shop, opening two locations at the age of 20, and eventually owned 4 locations generating sales over $5 million.  An early champion of intersecting personal values, community and business, Manjit now uses her expriences to mentor and coach growth and potential in small enterprises through the power of purpose, possiblility and people. Some of Manjit's community commitments include chairing the board of Immigrant Women Services Ottawa, board member of the Harry P. Ward Foundation, member of the selection committee of the Ottawa Philanthropy Awards, and one of the founding members of Women for Mental Health. Her passion for stories and people has led her to an interesting media project with Rogers TV where she hosts "Trailblazers", a program featuring conversations with inspiring local people creating change at home, and around the world.
